BTT1O Summative - Customer Sales DATABASE


DESCRIPTION
It will be important for you to track WHO you do business with, WHAT their specific needs are, WHEN you make sales to them, and HOW MUCH they owe you for your work. Your "Customer Sales Database" will act like a cash register

INSTRUCTIONS
  • Create an appropriately named database using FILEMAKER PRO
  • Create appropriately named FIELDS to store the information you require - the number of fields you require should be logical for your business, and it is up to you to make it useful - ie:
    • WHO: Customer Name, phone number, address
    • WHAT: Details of the work the customer requires, An estimate of how many hours the work will take
    • WHEN: Sale Date, Due Date, Payment Date (when or if they made final payment)
    • HOW MUCH: Quoted price, Tax (assume 13%), Total Payment, Down Payment, Payment Due
  • Create an attractive LAYOUT, including any company logo that you've designed
  • Create any AUTOMATION (buttons) that might make the database easier to work with
  • Create at least FIVE records with sample information from your clients

EVALUATION (10 marks)
  • Content (5 Marks)
    • Completeness of your proposal
      • Inclusion of all required information listed in the description
    • Viability of the proposal
      • Is the proposal realistic and are it's ideas attainable given your skill set and competencies?
  • Format (5 Marks)
    • Neatness and Aesthetic appeal of the document
      • Use of appropriate formatting styles, bullets, alignment, spacing
      • Logical organization of information
    • Integrity of spelling and grammar within the document
